As constable civil process will be my duty however, my mission will be to protect our three major assets our families, our homes, and our businesses. I will be a dedicated full time Constable. One question that I am asked by many is, "How do you feel about the 2nd Amend- ment?" my answer is simple, I am a very strong believer in the 2nd Amendment. I am fair, honest and i~mpartial. - PRECINCT 3 - James Bryant My name is James "Jim" Bryant, and I'm asking for your vote to elect me as your next Precinct 3 constable. I have been a resident of Bumet County since 2002. I have had the pleasure of serving the children of citizens in Mar- ble Falls Independent School district as an educator of grades nine-12 since 2002. I also have an asso- ciates degree in applied sciences from Dallas Community Col- lege District. I am an honorably retired U.S Marine Corps Ma- jor. I am also a graduate of Tra- vis County's Citizen's Acade- my. I have taught and have been a practitioner of martial arts (life protection skills) since 1989. I believe in conservatism and having fiscally conservative government, a strong national defense, belief in God and Je- sus Christ, taking care of family first, society second and myself last. I also believe in the Bill of Rights, and that our U.S. Con- stitution should be strictly ad- hered to. Platform: Provide statutory service as bailiff and/or securi- ty and support to the Justice of the Peace; increase patrols and community policing with an eye on DWIs; coordinate with the Sheriff's Office and other agen- cies to enhance public safety; facilitate warrants and other civ- il process directed by the courts; hire a reserve deputy constable to enhance the training, devel- opment and requirements of the office; provide security as a courtesy to events like the Oat- meal Festival and the LakeFest James Bryant boat races, and support commu- nity service by assisting events like Brown Santa and Toys for Tots. I chose to run for constable in Precinct 3 because I believe there is a potential for too much complacency in political office. I expect the community to ex- pect me to have a high level of integrity and professionalism. I ask that you would support my effort in working as a "full- time" public servant to Bumet County citizens of Precinct 3, by voting James "Jim" Bry- ant for Precinct 3 constable on March 1. Jimmy Ballard Education: Working toward criminal justice degree, inves- tigative hypnotist, civil process proficiency exam, certified crime prevention specialists, cross designated U.S. Customs agent, previous narcotics agent and drug dog handler Family: Married to Linda (Wall) Ballard, 24 years; two children-Z-daughter, Brook Hanson of the Marble Falls Po- lice Department (MFPD) and married to MFPD Capt. Glen Hanson; and son, Garrett Bal- lard, 22. Experience: Over 34 years of police and security service including the last 23 years with Bumet County and the last 20 as your constable, minus a short time around the year 2000. Affiliations: Numerous non profit fraternities-- life member of the NRA and The Hill Coun- try 100 Club; member of the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Cham- ber of Commerce and Burnet Chamber of Commerce, the First Baptist Church of Marble Falls; past member of the Mar- ble Falls City Council and past director of The Bumet County Fair and Rodeo Association; donated twice to the construc- tion of Habitat of Humanity, and affiliated with the Republi- can Party. Since first starting this job in 1995 I have already accom- plished quite a bit. As senior constable the training I have received and my experience make me far more qualified to do this job without any doubt. My greatest contribution to life so far is that I have been able to manage several businesses at one time without any inter- Jimmy Ballard fering with the other. Although 1 am now cutting back to law enforcement "only," I have no regrets. I am proud of what I have accomplished in life and do not wish things would have gone any differently.
