It is going to be a Seventh Grade Student of the Month is Mabel Ramirez, the daughter of Jose and Juanita Ramirez. Gissell and J.J. are her sib- lings. Mabel tries hard every day in class, includ- ing her favorite subject, science. Basketball is the sport she enjoys most. Mabel plans to apply her practice of aiming for suc- cess in graduating high school and attending Angelo State University. The first is a rooming coffee and tea with the superin- tendent. In addition to the refreshments, I will serve up intimate conversations and informative updates. I hope that you can join me on Feb. 11 at 8 a.m. at the Parent Resource Center located next to the Central Office, 208 East Brier. The second event is Join the Joumey's 3rd Annual Safe and Drug Free Wellness Fair. Knowing how busy the late spring can be, the date for the fair has been moved earlier this year and will take place on Feb. 18 at RJ Richey Elementary, 500 East Graves, from 5-7 p.m. The fair will include health screenings, drug/alcohol educa- tion, healthy snacks and more. We will also have great door prizes like an iPad Mini, Fitbits and a six-month family mem- bership to the YMCA. I hope to see you at both events!
